The key to any great landscaping design is to find one that keeps your yard interesting no matter what time of the year it is.
Evergreen trees are the secret plants in a really good landscape design. These fabulous trees will add a stately atmosphere to your home while still keeping it welcoming and warm.
Although adding deciduous trees in the landscape offers variety, evergreens always give stability to a good backyard landscaping design. Deciduous trees are best appreciated in all but winter months… although many folks also enjoy their branch structures during winter. Evergreens are fantastic year round, and this is why they make such a great backyard landscaping additions.
Hardscapes are the “bones” in good landscape designs, and refer to things like rocks, fences and walls. These also make yards attractive and enjoyable during all of the seasons. You can train vines and ground covers to grown on them. They draw your attention in every season, and provide both vertical and lateral interest to landscape designs.
There is much more to landscaping than just plants and trees. The best landscape designs have a good balance between plantings and hardscape. While plantings delight our senses, hardscapes give structure to the design with walls and fences and trellises and edgings and paths.
When landscape design balances plantings and hardscapes, the result is not just beauty… there is also a stress-releasing calmness.
